Outbound Orientation

WELCOME OUTBOUND STUDENTS

 
 
Your in person orientation will take place in Victoria, BC. This is your opportunity to meet fellow exchange students and get to know more about your journey in the coming year. 
 
This will be a packed event.
 
On this page, you will find some of the details about your orientation and what items you need to bring.
 

 

Where

Quality Inn Downtown Inner Harbour, 850 Blanshard Street, Victoria, BC

When

Last full weekend in April - Friday Afternoon through Monday Morning (Please Check the Calendar for more details)

Preparation Notes

  • Canadian Students:  Your travel may begin on the Thursday before. You will be contacted directly about travel arrangements. 
  • US Students:  Your travel may begin on the Thursday before. You will be contacted directly about travel arrangements. 
  • US students will need to bring a valid passport to travel. If you need more information, please contact your country officer. 
  • All Students: will depart by 10:30 AM Monday morning

Accommodations

  • Students will be staying at the Hotel

Items To Bring  

  • 3 days change of clothes (this is a camp setting, do not bring dress-up clothes or high heeled shoes). PACK LIGHTLY  
  • Lightweight jacket (rainproof) and sweatshirt (it can get cold at night)
  • If bringing a camera be sure to have a name tag attached                                                          
  • Overnight bathroom supplies (toothbrush, etc)
  • Water bottle to refill
  • Research project (on a USB drive & physical copy)

Do Not Bring

  • laptops, iPads or tables
  • Towels and linens are supplied
  • We know that you will be using your cell phone camera to record some of these amazing memories; we expect that you will keep your cell phone turned off or on airplane mode so you can be present during presentations or conversations with other students and committee members. 

Getting to Victoria:

US Students will need to cross via the COHO Ferry out of Port Angeles
